Public key technology (PKI) has proven to be ideal for managing the risks entailed in the exchange of information in telematic networks and in protecting documents, providing the highest levels of security and trust.
The PKI establishes the bases for supporting the protection of sensitive data through data encryption and the use of digital certificates to manage access control.
Centralized Key Management
Safelayer's encryption solution consists of a platform that provides data protection mechanisms in the exchange of information (it supports encryption formats for documents, email and Web messaging) as centrally managed Web services.
For managing the risk of losing data owing to a loss of control of the encryption keys, the TrustedX solution supports Encryption Key Management. With TrustedX, encryption keys can be centrally managed using a role-based access control system. This approach allows defining a set of trust circles of the entities with access rights to organization documents protected by encryption.
The solution can be deployed next to Safelayer's authentication and electronic signature solutions or independently; the unified management of the corporate security policies is provided in both scenarios.
