Safelayer has taken part in the latest edition of the interoperability Plugtests organized by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). With more than 600,000 certificates issued since it was set up, Safelayer's KeyOne PKI supports the Spanish Ministry Of Defense on a daily basis as it certificates are used by Ministry staff for tasks including smartcard logon, authenticating in internal systems, signing documents, and signing and encrypting emails. The infrastructure also protects the Ministry's network devices and SSL servers.
