Citizen eID credentials provided by the AOC Consortium guarantee the privacy of the Personal Health Folder.
Safelayer, a leader in digital ID management, e-signature and authentication, has, in collaboration with the AOC Consortium (Open Administration Consortium of Catalonia), developed an application for citizens to access their Personal Health Folder (PHF).
“IdCAT–Digital Identity” is an application for managing and using the idCAT digital identifier in mobile devices. IdCAT identifiers are issued by the AOC Consortium to guarantee the identities of people on the Web. The application is available on iTunes.
It is one of the pilot applications selected as part of the Mobile Access to the Personal Health Folder (PHF) project for mobile devices sponsored by Mobile World Capital Barcelona and the TICSalut Foundation. The project aims to test technology for using mobile devices as authentication elements for accessing the PHF securely.
This application will be on display at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona from the 24th to 28th February. Safelayer and the AOC Consortium will be present at the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation with a number of mHealth demonstration and pilot applications aimed at enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness and universalization of health care.
"IdCAT - Digital Identity" automates and simplifies the provisioning of the idCAT identifiers to mobile devices and facilitates use in Web pages and native applications while featuring a straightforward user experience:
- Users can request an idCAT identifier and configure it in their mobile devices. They can also browse related information.
- The use of the idCAT identifier is protected by a PIN that the user sets and can change.
- It can be used in any browser or application.
The application was developed by the AOC Consortium (www.aoc.cat) using technology from Safelayer Secure Communications (www.safelayer.com).
