The nomination recognises the interoperability in digital management offered by Safelayer’s product for the second consecutive year, after having received several European awards.
Safelayer, leading Spanish company in the market of PKI technology for digital identification, electronic signature and data encipherment, has been nominated for the Data TI magazine’s Award of the Year for its TrustedX platform in the category of security. This is the second consecutive year that Safelayer has received the nomination.
Every year, Data TI, a monthly publication specialising in information technology, awards companies that offer the most innovative and interesting products and solutions applied to corporate management. A Technical Committee has chosen the candidates for the Awards of the Year, which are subdivided into thirteen categories including network and system management, software, business applications, network infrastructure and security.
The platform, based on SOA and web services, is designed with the goal of simplifying the use of PKI security services for electronic signatures and data protection, that is, of any type of digital identity management. It also enables authentication and unique access control in web environments and central management of information and auditing.
The platform developed by Safelayer integrates the most advanced security standards and protocols defined by the ITU-T, IETF, ETSI and OASIS international forums and adopted by the industry, thus providing a set of unique functionalities and interoperability with all products on the market that use these standards.
With the recent addition of the new TrustedX 2.3 version, the platform incorporates an XML gateway that provides data processing rules and new integration architectures aimed at preventing changes in business processes.
The interoperability of this innovative product by Safelayer has garnered several international awards. In fact, TrustedX was nominated in 2007 for the European ICT Prize, awarded by the European Commission to the most innovative technology. During the same year the platform was also awarded the European TeleTrusT Innovation Award, because it was considered a pioneer in the dissemination of integrated security applications.
TrustedX clients include the Central Bank of Spain, Bankinter, BBVA, CESCE, the Spanish Congress of Deputies, the National Statistical Institute (INE), the Ministry of Agriculture, SESCAM (Castilla-La Mancha Health Service), Unión Fenosa and UOC (Open University of Catalonia).
