Safelayer will be awarded the certification during the 7th International Security and Common Criteria Certification Conference to be held in Spain.
Safelayer Secure Communications, a Spanish company devoted to developing and marketing PKI security software solutions for managing identity, electronic signature and data protection shall receive the CC EAL4+ certificate during the 7th International Security and Common Criteria Certification Conference, to be held in Spain.
Safelayer shall thus become the only company in the world to be granted this certification for a complete configuration of PKI products.
According to Adrián Moure, executive vice president of marketing, sales and alliances at Safelayer "Common Criteria not only guarantees security criteria but also that the delivered product has not been manipulated and behaves according to the specifications described by the manufacturer".
The certification that Safelayer is to receive is granted to equipment or products that ensure compliance with specific security properties. The standard is based on international evaluation criteria known as Common Criteria. Certification bodies should have a series of quality and technical requirements for their certificates to be recognised on an international level. The Centro Criptológico Nacional, which will also be organising the conference, is the body in charge of certifying the security of Information Technology equipment and products in Spain.
The Spanish technological sector has three products developed in Spain that have been granted this certification, two of which have been developed by Safelayer and the third by MEE.
The 7th International Security and Common Criteria Certification Conference will be held in Lanzarote on September 19, 20 and 21. Industry regulators, laboratories and actors will be present at the event with the aim of unifying computer security criteria.
In addition to having a stand during the three days of the conference, Safelayer has also been chosen by the eventt´s organising committee to explain its experience with regards to this certification to conference participants. Thus, Jordi Iñigo Griera, Software Development Manager at Safelayer will give a presentation entitled "The KeyOne product´s CC EAL4+ certification".
Safelayer has always shown a commitment to quality. In 2005, it was granted CC EAL2 and became the first Spanish company to obtain the ISO 9001 certificate, which was recently renewed for another three years and is applied to design and development processes for security software, including the professional services area.
