TeleTrusT recognizes Safelayer's technology with the Innovation Award 2007

TeleTrusT awarded PKI solution for identification and administration of digital identities.

The laureate of the TeleTrusT Innovation Award 2007 is the Spanish IT Security expert Safelayer Secure Communications. The software provider received the award for the product TrustedX which integrates security mechanisms into business processes. Professor Norbert Pohlmann, chairman of the board of TeleTrusT Deutschland e.V., awarded the ideal award at ISSE (Information Security Solutions Europe) 2007 in Warsaw in front of 500 IT-Security experts from all over the world.

„The PKI-solution TrustedX simplifies the integration of security mechanisms into business processes”, Günther Welsch, CEO of TeleTrusT, points out, “by functioning as Trusted Service Provider which takes over authentication and identification, authorization and access control.” Therewith this practicably approved application perfectly matched the decisive criterion for awarding the Innovation Award: to provide an innovative and trustworthy solution for electronic business connections that achieves real benefit and takes up a pioneering task in the diffusion of applications with integrated security.

„The increasing amount of electronic transactions within the international business connections and particularly the growing misuse challenge us to provide better mechanisms for secure business processes“, Dr. Francisco Jordan, head of research and development at Safelayer who accepted the award, comments. „The award is a welcome occasion for us to draw the public attention to the urgency of implementing such mechanisms.”

TeleTrusT awards the Innovation Award annually for European developments integrating innovative and trustworthy applications into the electronic business processes of the companies. Therewith they are pathfinders for applications with adequate security features. The main criterion is the proven benefit for the company. Thereby user friendliness and simple administration play an important role as well as the design of the technical solution. With the Innovation Award TeleTrusT wants to animate further vendors and producers of IT-Security products to commit strategic partnerships with users and multipliers.

Well-known laureates of past years are T Mobile, the Deutsche Rentenversicherung, the Austrian Biometrics provider ekey, the Deutsche Sparkassenverlag DSV, the Deutsche Genossenschafts-Verlag (DG Verlag), the regional tax office Munich, the BfG Bank, the German association of chambers of commerce and industry as well as the project MediaKoom from Bremen.
