Trust Service Providers
Trust service providers (TSPs) assure the electronic identification of people and services through the use of digital certificates and electronic signatures. They offer digital certificate issue, time-stamping, and signature generation and verification services, providing a trust framework for the relations between organizations and countries. The EU Directive on Electronic Signatures, along with the resulting legislation in member states and the regulations in Latin America, defines the requirements for providing certification services in which the authentication and non-repudiation services offered by TSPs are regulated and recognized.
