Public key technology has proved to be particularly appropriate in managing the risks of interchanging information over computer networks and in protecting documents through the provision of identification and trust features. PKI lays the foundations for supporting the protection of sensitive data through the use of data encryption and digital certificates in managing the access control to such data.
Safelayer's encryption solutions provide the mechanisms for the protection of information during its interchange (electronic documents, e-mail and Web messaging). These mechanisms are deployed as corporate Web services which can be accessed via XML and which can be managed in a centralised way. TrustedX supports document and messaging encryption formats (PKCS#7/CMS, S/MIME and XML-Enc) as well as those for the SOAP protocol (WS-Security), reinforcing its capacity to also manage the corporate encryption policies in a single system.
The key encryption custody functions included in Safelayer's solutions allow ciphered documents to be stored while taking into account that digital certificates and user privileges are dynamic in the long-term. KeyOne Desktop provides this unique characteristic which permits the long-term maintenance of confidential information, thereby simplifying the management needs of such information; and providing the organization with the appropriate encryption mechanisms.
